The Islamic Center of Cary: Building Faith and Brotherhood in North Carolina

Established in 2004, the Islamic Center of Cary (ICC) — also known as Cary Masjid — began with a small group of dedicated Muslims seeking a place for prayer and spiritual connection in Cary, North Carolina. That same year, the community purchased land with the vision of building a permanent home for the growing Muslim population in the area.

Today, the Masjid remains under construction, with great anticipation for its completion, Insha’Allah. Once finished, it will serve as a cornerstone for Muslims across Wake County, offering a sanctuary for worship, learning, and community life.

Spiritual Foundation and Practices

The Islamic Center of Cary is rooted in the authentic teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the practices of the Khulafah Rashideen. While the mosque embraces all Muslims, its foundational approach follows the jurisprudence of Imam Abu Hanifah (RA), emphasizing moderation, knowledge, and unity.

In addition to daily prayers, the Center places a strong focus on spiritual excellence (Ihsaan)—cultivating sincerity, mindfulness, and devotion in worship. The ICC welcomes all visitors to come together, meet new friends, and grow spiritually in an environment of brotherhood and understanding.

The governance structure of the ICC follows Qur’anic principles and the Prophetic model of leadership, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and community consultation. Its organizational framework includes:

Mission and Objectives
