She earned her degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist, serving her community not only professionally but also through extensive volunteer work. Since 2001, she has volunteered at the Hilliard Senior Center, conducting medication reviews to support older residents’ health.

During the COVID‑19 pandemic, she helped deliver vaccines to elderly residents and nursing facilities through volunteer work with Kroger. She also served as Columbus Chapter President of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), coordinating medical treatment for seriously ill and injured children from abroad.

In the 2025 Hilliard City Council election, Rasul ran as a Democrat and was the leading vote‑getter among candidates winning four open council seats. Her victory was historic: she became the first Muslim woman and the first person of Palestinian descent elected to the Hilliard City Council.

Rasul’s campaign highlighted her deep community ties, long record of service, and commitment to ensuring that Hilliard remains a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant place for all residents.
