Flushing Town Hall will host a unique artistic event this Friday, December 5, 2025, titled the “Mini Global Fusion Festival: Flying Horses / Sonic Threads.” The festival offers a musical journey along the ancient Silk Road, uniting talented artists from China, India, Iran, and Turkmenistan, with a notable Arab presence from Palestine and Syria.

Curated by renowned tabla player Roshni Samlal, the festival draws inspiration from historical links that spanned continents. Just as textiles and ceramics traveled along ancient trade routes, rhythmic patterns and string melodies crossed borders, connecting cultures through threads of music.

Distinct Arab Participation: A highlight of the event is the third segment of the concert, featuring Palestinian multi-instrumentalist Zafer Taweel (percussion, violin, oud) and veteran singer Faraj Abed. The duo will perform masterpieces from Palestinian and Syrian musical heritage, showcasing the depth and authenticity of Arab art within this global fusion.

Concert Program

The festival consists of three musical segments, followed by a Global Jam, where all artists share the stage in spontaneous cross-cultural collaboration:

Guests can also enjoy a variety of regional foods from local vendors.
