Over 1,000 Non-Citizens Found Illegally Registered to Vote in Ohio, Says Secretary of State

Ohio’s Secretary of State Frank LaRose revealed over 1,000 non-citizens illegally registered to vote and 167 who cast ballots since 2018.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced Tuesday the results of an investigation revealing that 1,084 non-U.S. citizens and undocumented immigrants were illegally registered to vote. All cases have been referred to the Department of Justice for possible prosecution.

According to the investigation—which LaRose described as part of Ohio’s ongoing efforts to safeguard election integrity—more than 167 individuals have cast ballots in federal elections since 2018.

He added that Ohio remains a ‘gold standard’ for election integrity, noting that his office’s Election Integrity Unit continues to audit voter rolls ahead of the 2026 elections.
