As the new academic year approaches, Niche has released its annual rankings of the best public and private high schools and top school districts across Michigan. The report also highlights how several Michigan schools stand out nationally.

Ranking Criteria

• Private Schools: Evaluated based on the colleges graduates attend, college enrollment rates, cultural diversity, student-to-teacher ratios, and reviews from parents and students about the overall learning experience.

• Public Schools: Ranked according to academic performance, teacher quality, extracurricular and athletic programs, resources and facilities, cultural diversity, and feedback from parents and students.

• Best Private High School: Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills — ranked #1 in Michigan for STEM and #1 K–12 private school in the state, also placing 23rd nationwide.

• Best Public High School: International Academy in Bloomfield Hills — ranked 14th among U.S. public high schools.

• Best School District: Novi Community School District in Oakland County — ranked 21st in the U.S..
